Samsung Galaxy S3 (My First Impressions)

On first look you may feel ohhh nooo.. this is not such a good phone to be S2 successor.
But if u just look at S2 and recollect, it's success was not because of it's design, but mainly because of the features it offered.

Now here we have a phone which is much better in design than S2 and has top notch feature set.

Main positives I see in this phone are the large battery and the expandable memory option.
(One X and Xperia S do not have).
The 4.8 screen is good.
S-Voice and 50GB cloud storage may turn out to be the trump card for this phone.

iPhone 5 Killer??? Don't think so at this stage.
First it has to compete against the OneX.

Upper Mid Range: (20-28k)

This is a very tough Range of pricing to choose a mobile mainly because.
A) U are putting in almost 25k of money and still u will not be able to get hold of the flagship droids.
B) Since u are going to put so much into it u need to be sure that you wont lose out on any of the features that the top ends have.
C)Currently this section has mobiles that are almost a year old and were flagships when they were announced. So the more tougher to be investing on them.
On a better note a month or two's wait might see some good releases like Sony Xperia P, Samsung Ace2 and the Huawei Ascend P1 range that fall in this category. Also we may see Galaxy S2 and Motorolla Razer prices to drop to 25k or below.

So with all these hurdles in mind if u are still set to buy a mobile in the range of 25k here are the best options.

1) Nokia Lumia800 (24k)
Why: Award winning Design phone, New and fresh look OS, Microsoft office apps.
Why not to: No front facing camera, fewer apps available to the OS.

2)Motorola Atrix 2 (23k)
Why: Has all the features of a flagship model, good battery backup.
Why not to: Not so good looking, Older version of Andriod i.e.2.3 an upgrade may change that.
3) Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S (25k)
Why: Super curvy design and was the flagship model in 2011.
Why not to: No front facing camera, low on ram 512.

Final wording on the range:
Two tips here would be
A) Invest 5k more and go for the top end Driods
B) Wait for some more time for the 2012 models to be released in this range.

Still if u have decided to go for this range and want to buy a mobile now the above mentioned are the best three options.

Top End: (Price range above 28k)

1) Sony Xperia S (Price 30K)
Why: Great design, HD screen, NFC tags.
What's not so good: No memory expansion, some Driods now have 4cores but 1.5ghz dual core is more than sufficient.

2) HTC One X (Price 37k)
Why: Quad Core processor, Huge Screen, great design.
What's not so Good: No memory expansion, May be too big from some.

3) Samsung Galaxy S2 (Price 28k)
Why: Best smartphone of 2011 still stands good for 3rd spot.
What's not so Good: More than a year old now.

(The mobiles selected here are based on current availability. HTC One S is not yet released in India and Samsung Galaxy S3 release may change the ratings as well)
